Las Vegas Poker was a Ad spot for a local Poker Tournament that was going to be held on the Las Vegas Strip. These short Ad spots would be shown on local broadcast stations to advertise the poker tournament.

Las Vegas Poker Tournament was on of the extensive personal projects that I carried out. As I was thinking of ideas of ways to promote an event in Las Vegas, I first needed an event to promote. The first thing that came to mind was Poker after Dark. A series like that was what I wanted to achieve and create a feel for. Next I needed a logo. Something that would be eye catching to the audience around 25 to late 30's both genders that can relate and contact with.

First thing I thought of was a face card as the major point of the logo design. I didn't want to pick a king because studies show that females grab more attention than if a male was the model for the event or object of sell. So I went with the queen cards. Well there are 4 to choose from and I can only have one to represent so there was a process that is quit funny to tell that I did.

From left to right I narrowed my selection down. The Queen of clubs looks very snooty and stuck-up. The design on here is very busy and I would have love to animate her but she doesn't have the logo look. Very snooty! Next in line is the Queen of diamonds. She looks constipated and very blown-up like the girl in Willy-Wonka (blue berry girl). Again not very much a logo type of girl that I was aiming for. Ah, The Queen of Hearts. You would think that I was going to use her but if you look deep she reminds me of a guy. Very short rounded face. She looks like she's about to cry. What tragic even happened in her life to make her look so sad. She is probably very heart broken, hence I can not promote such a game that already creates heartache and stress if my lady that represents the tournament is already sad. Sorry Queen of Hearts, cheer up. Last but not least is my Queen of Spades. She has the face of a elegant woman who is very honorable and humble looking. She shows in here looks the royalty and beauty that a Queen needs.

The type face to me was not an issue. Already known what i wanted in the type face. If you ever seen some of the old westerns they used the "rosewood" font for the saloons and every time they shown the saloons there were old dirty nasty looking cowboys playing cards. Not saying that is what this tournament was going to attract but the rosewood font is what stood out the most for gaming of poker cards. The color scheme as well came from the Queen of Spades face card.

Shown on the right is the back of the cards that are thrown on the table. This seemed to me the standard design of any deck that I have played with and scene. My research didn't take long for the design of the back of the card.

To the left is the reference poker table that I used. I taken this basic design and started from scratch. Knowing that I wanted an aerial shot of the table I needed the logo of the show be in the middle. So I designed the logo and placed it in the middle along with some other designs that went well with logo placement.

I used the same reds and yellows that was on the Queen face cards and used them as the primary colors used as misc. designs through out the table. The rustic look was going very well with the table design. I wanted a royal look towards the placement of the players on the table so I designed a english looking design to be by them.

I have some other designs of poker chips but I only needed a basic feel of a chip that looks like well, a basic poker chip. The focus was not intended to be on the misc. items on the board like the chips and back of the cards. The point was to have some realistic movement on the table.
