The time lapse videos were a concept that I wanted to try while viewing on of the videos. Thinking to myself, "How cool would it be if I was able to place more video footage on top of this footage and make so real!" Not knowing what that really involved as an artist but I wanted to rise up to the challenge.
Looking at many different footages of time lapse the ones that I picked out were able to provide my vision of what I really wanted to accomplish. I can't show you the full length of the videos that I used but just to show you a frame of each so that I can demonstrate to you the different color grading and elements I used and had to change.

From the footage shown on the left, there is a slight blue tint to the footage. This was a feel that I wanted to show. The smell of rain, the look of a rain storm coming. Something that everybody can relate to.
I had a cloud sequence in mind that shown more movement and color of what I wanted so I took out the clouds of this footage. I love the green in this footage but I wanted to place more video on top of each other. By doing so I had to get rid of the green pastures. Don't worry it will stay green on the other side.

This was the footage that I used for the ground. Not much color as the green pastures but I wanted to place like a lake bed on the right. I love the way that the clouds shown on the ground has very rich shadows which helps with my depth making it more believable.
The clouds were to washed out for me to color grade it to the point of making it not believable. Very little hills or mountains in the footage so that was no help to me at all.

This is the footage with the small lake bed in the center of the sequence. I love the clouds and the movement but to much for what I needed them to do. The color grade of the lake was more to my liking of the ground that I have chosen and it worked really well.
Some of the footage that I choose was very similar in color grade. With that in mind it helped me out to find the happy medium of color grade to show that all videos were inner linked with each other. Same movement of the cloud shadows and color change of the scene throughout the lake bed that went well with the movement of the cloud change which was a different footage.

This was the cloud footage that I wanted to use. Full of life and character and went well with the blues and purples that I wanted to show for a up and coming rain storm.
Overall footage was really good but that wasn't giving me the opportunity to do anything to the footage. Which is the whole point of this project.

This was an additional footage used to inner sync the cloud cover with the other footages. This footage would be placed in the foreground with a feather mask to help sell the placement of all footages. With the subtle movement of these clouds it makes you wonder how close are clouds to us are and really how much rain are you about to release.
Originally I used this piece just as a single footage but latter on you can notice where my mask lines where. With that flaw of the project visible I needed to place more layers to inner sync the footage. So I created 3 different layers at different areas of the sequence to overlap one another. It made the project come together and helped me achieve what I wanted my final render to look like in the end.
