I seen a demo reel with a easy 2d animation tank with a guy that pops out of the cab and points. That's it. Simple and to the point. I wanted to create a logo that animated to promote a show about tanks in the fashion of 2d animation.

This is the basic outline and look of the airplanes running around in the Ad spot. I color graded it to look like the tank. It may look a little simple but that is what I was striving to display. A basic old fashion fighter plane flying through the sky.

This is the basic layout of the logo design. With the image on the top left, this is the background plate for the words to rest upon. I used a basic square with a over drawn bevel around the edges to create a metal semi-glossy feel. A teal "tire" track was used for feel of what the show is. Something that can show what the iconic symbol would be. Tank equals tire tracks naturally so I used this as a subtle way of showing that iconic look. Teal green was used to bring out the lettering and the teal was a contrast with the gray tone feel of the design.

Now this boys and girls is where the battle took place. Bunker Hill! Ok seriously, this is where Julie Andrews talked about the sound of music.
Ok maybe not any of those, but this is the green grass used in the ad spot. Below is the masked out grass in gray scale used. Maybe some where in history or on film this very hill was very important. You never know.

What is seen above are the picket fence and some grass used in the spot as well as the Sky element that I used. I chosen the sky because it was screaming out death and gloomy, scary feeling for anybody that would be in a war.

This is the infamous tank of all of human existence. The General looking over his master piece that for some reason will not start. I believe it is a Ford or a Chevy engine. You choose. Any who, I took this High resolution picture and modified it and made it so that I could animate and do special things.
There was a basic element of fun that I wanted to establish was that it seemed to be paper looking. And yes, that was the intent even though it was in a semi real atmosphere. Some things are meant to be fake to the eye (which this is quit obvious) and some things are so real that they seemed to be fake.
